So you are heading to Tokyo and are looking for some unique sake brewery to visit? Look no further.
“Heiwa Doburoku Brewery” (平和どぶろく兜町醸造所) by Wakayama-based Heiwa Shuzou, makers of “KID” and collaborator on the extremely tasty “Ume Sake KitKats” has recently opened its doors in "Kayabacho", which is in walking distance to Tokyo station. And although it is focused on "Doburoku" they have much more to offer (although, I personally would have been happy just with the Doburoku too).
At this brewpub, you will be able to sample on-site brewed craft Doburoku, anything from smooth to extra chunky (thanks to the addition of other grains) or interesting flavors, including mint or hops. However, they also have some of their sake as well as craft beers on offer, along with a great food menu.
They conveniently open from 1 pm and reservations are not required, however, I do think once the word is out this place will get rather busy on the weekends. So if you are planning to stay in Tokyo this pretty much is a no-brainier 🤘
And even better, if you like what you drink you can pick up a bottle to take home, whether it's their flagship Doburoku, some of their on-site created craft brew or of course their sake and beers too!
