Discover Sake Destinations in Japan

Hokkaido is what I call my second home and without a doubt should be on anyone's list when visiting Japan! Because of its distance to Tokyo and Kyoto, unfortunately, it often does not make the cut, especially with first-time visitors to Japan. So let me give you a few reasons of why it should be, because aside from its abundance of traditional Japanese and Ainu culture, its stunning nature and some of the best produce in Japan resulting in amazing food experiences, it is also home to some of the best sake in Japan!

It is also a great place to visit all-year-around, with great hiking in summer, flower displays, and a chance to see the beautiful blue pond, but of course is famous for its skiing and snowboarding in winter, with the best powder you will ever see. And then there are the snow festivals, which are some of the most magical events in all of Japan. So many things to do in so little time with plenty of places to drink sake too, from tiny izakayas, standing bars and restaurants there is certainly no shortage of places to try some of the local brew. It gets a bit more difficult when we get to the part about which place to choose, especially when you are on a limited timeframe...

Here is a collection of sake bars, shops, and breweries you should not miss while in Hokkaido.

More coming Soon!
